Our October event is on at 6:30pm, **Tuesday**, October 1st, 2019.
Hunter Water provides water and wastewater services to over half a million people. As part of a focus on improving the way they manage their network, they have participated in a number of IoT trials. The trials include acoustic monitoring of pipes to detect leaks, monitoring flow to help locate issues and monitoring overflow points across the Hunter to prevent environmental impacts. The trials have even involved experimentation with advanced analytics and machine learning to predict and prevent issues in the Hunter Region.
Ryan Poole is Digital Innovation Manager at Hunter Water and at the pointy end of the organisation’s pioneering efforts to explore the potential of this technology. Ryan will share his hard earned knowledge putting the Internet of Things to work in some of the most critical, inhospitable places in the region.
As usual, outside the main event there will be a news recap, plus plenty of opportunity to talk business and tech with like-minded folk from the local area. Feel free to bring up a drink from the bar downstairs or even order a meal from the restaurant, plus there'll be free finger food after the talks. All are welcome, but please RSVP so we can get the catering right.
